Kirsten was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for over 10 years and was with the firm for a total of 23 years. Kirsten was the engagement partner on many well-known public companies including Air Canada, Northwest Company and Winpak. She was also the engagement partner on many private companies and not-for-profit organizations. Her clients were widespread over a variety of industries including real estate, retail, financial services and manufacturing.
Known as a trusted business advisor with her clients, Kirsten provided practical advice and acted as a sounding board to key decision makers. Her knowledge of controls and procedures, risk management and transaction support allowed her to deliver multi-disciplined advice. While she was an “audit expert” she also gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas of business including strategic, financial and operational functions.
Her technical background is very strong as Kirsten has experience with many financial issues and various GAAP requirements. She also understands Canadian auditing standards in-depth having been subject to many internal and external file inspections.
Throughout her career at PwC, Kirsten was repeatedly called upon to take on additional roles with increasing levels of responsibility and has a proven track record of excelling at execution and delivering results. This has been demonstrated in her numerous leadership roles throughout her career including Human Capital Leader, Professional Development Leader and Instructor and Chair of the Winnipeg Women in Leadership/Retention of Women Committee.
Kirsten is also very involved in the community and has taken on various volunteer positions over the years. She is a member of the Board and Chair of the Audit Committee of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet as well as the Manitoba Centennial Centre Corporation. Past involvement includes the co-chairing the Major Donor Division of United Way Annual Campaigns and Past President of Niakwa County Club as the first female president in the Club’s 90-year history.
